Summer at Jellystone Park™ Waller is packed with nonstop fun, and no one knows that better than the team who brings the magic to life every day. We asked a few of our incredible staff members to share their favorite summer activities that make us the best campground in Texas for families - and their answers are full of heart, laughter, and a whole lot of love for making memories.

Michael Behrns, General Manager

Mike is entering his third season with us at Jellystone Park™ Waller, his first as our General Manager. With a large family of 8 children, Mike has a unique perspective on activities that are fun for the entire family! His absolute favorite though? Our foam parties! “My favorite activity to do with my kids is participating in the themed activities and foam parties. It’s the perfect way to laugh, play, and make unforgettable memories together. The energy is always high, and seeing the joy on their faces makes it a highlight every time we do it.”

Mike also loves getting off-property occasionally: “Nearby the park, my favorite thing to do is explore the Waller County Farmers Market when it’s open. It’s a fun way to connect with the local community, browse fresh produce and handmade goods, and still be close enough to jump right back into the park activities with the kids.”

Jessica Medinger, Office Manager

Entering her fourth season creating magical memories, Jessica is well versed in the great activities we offer at our Texas campground. “My favorite activity to participate in is Wake Up With the Bears – it is a great way to start a fantastic camping day. A few light stretches and the Pledge of Allegiance and the mood of the day is set to have lots of fun.”

She also shared some of her go-to spots outside the park: “Some fun things to do that are local(ish) to Waller are Dewberry Farms, Aggieland Drive-Thru Safari in College Station, and Oil Ranch in Hockley.”

 

 

John Nicola, Facilities Manager

Our longest tenured Manager at just over 10 years of service at Jellystone Park™ Waller, John shares his families favorite activities: “The scavenger hunt is always a hit and brings us all together. My son is obsessed with the jump pillow—he’s finally mastered his back flips and front flips!"

 

 

Juan Nunez, Food and Beverage Manager

In his first season as our Food & Beverage manger after overseeing our Water Zone last year, Juan says “Bringing my family to the water park, followed by the excitement of playing laser tag at night are my favorite things to do at the park.”

 

Carol Welch, Guest Relations Supervisor

Carol, who many of you will see as the first smiling face you encounter at our Texas campground, says Candy Bar BINGO is a must when visiting the park! “My favorite activity would be Candy Bar BINGO. I loved playing it as a kid (without the candy) with my family. It was one of our family night games to play.”
